They're back

Back to school that is!

Kids go back today so a bit hectic here. Things should die down in a week and then it will be double the work to wake them up.

I'm enjoying this first week back because they are so excited I hardly have to nudge them to do anything.

Wish everyday was like this...

Sometimes all you need is a good cry

I like to torture myself sometimes and watch tragic love stories and then cry my eyes out.

That's normal, right? )

twilight - mr. cullen

I just remembered why I like Twilight

It's actually a good story, but sometimes all that brooding, sparkling, stalking vampire thing gets a bit old. When is Breaking Dawn out?

Oh and I stumbled upon this list, which made me smile because it mentions knitting. Edward, I have plenty of spare needles and my yarn stash is bigger than your collection of graduation hats so feel free to climb into my window any time.  My daughter Eibee would love that.

Hi there

Yes, still alive. I keep forgetting that this is a permanent account and will still be waiting for me even though I am now more active in my blog, on Ravelry and Facebook.

I still love my LJ. I need to spruce it up maybe, change the layout or something. Anyway, I thought I'd kick things up and as you to do something for me, gacked from [info]nadiamdq

Ask me for photos - my room, posters, books, my car, my fridge, my street, my city, where I work, where I like to hang out, the bar I usually go to, anything - and I'll do a post with your requests as soon as I'm done taking the pics.

There, this should be interesting.

Writer's Block: Pleasure, little treasure

Are there any sentimental objects that you've kept for many years? Are there any that you bring with you wherever you go?

First question listed was submitted by [info]ciel_avvenire. (Follow-up questions, if any, may have been added by LiveJournal.)

I have the little prayer booklet which I found off the streets a long time ago and it has stayed with me. I carried it around in my wallet at all times, until I got married and then gave it to my husband when he moved away to Dubai for the first time in 1993. He now carries it around in his wallet.

Filipinos are probably the most sentimental lot so I have more stashed away in boxes and files. Photos mostly, some magazine cut-outs of trivial stuff which I can never throw away.

I like to go through them every now and then and get lost in the feeling of way back when.

Writer's Block: Mind blitz

Is there anyone you would permanently erase from your life and memory? If so, who and why?

It's a harsh thing to do but yes, sadly, there are people in my life who would not be missed if I never had them or met them.

The only reason I can think of them being gone from my life and memory is the pain they have caused me. People hurt people all the time but when that pain is inflicted with very clear intent then that is inhumane. That is the worst thing another human being can do to another.

I put the pain these people have caused me in that category.

It breaks my heart to think of these people this way but I cannot think past the pain they caused. Nothing short of turning back time and making it right would ever change the way I feel about them.

I don't think I have failed them. I don't think I have not given them enough love and attention. I gave them plenty of second chances, but maybe they didn't know that they needed those second chances so they blew it all.

Sorry, R and V but I'm better of without you.

Eighteen years and counting

Eighteen years ago today, I said "I do".

Highlights of the past 18 years:

>> 1 amazingly patient husband
>> 4 beautiful children
>> 6,570 days of married bliss peppered by not-so-blissful moments
>> 157,680 hours of studying in the "School of Life"

To reward ourselves, we are spending the evening at the Burj Al Arab. Deluxe suite, dinner, jacuzzi, alone time.

Bring on the next eighteen years and more!

Lost and loved

Have you ever felt lost? Not lost like when you cannot find a particular destination. But lost like you went to sleep in your own bed in your own home and then you wake up and it's a whole different place.

Nothing makes sense any more. You walk among these people you do not know, on a street that is completely alien to you and all the while you feel like your feet are hovering two inches above the ground.

It's all unreal. )
